Water Testing

Prairie Fire Foundation supports clean, safe water for all. That includes testing the water we use every day. Many in Iowa may qualify to have their well tested for free. If you use water from a private well in Iowa, please call your county environmental health department to have your well water tested free of charge. The Iowa State Hygienic Lab will perform testing for a nominal fee. Click here to order your water testing kit from the Iowa State Hygienic Lab. If you do not qualify for the Safe Water Grant and cannot afford to pay for the testing, Prairie Fire Foundation will cover a limited amount of tests for anyone residing in one of Iowa’s 99 counties.
